Ask
Ask is a conversation with Terminal inside the app. You can ask about a price, an alert, or a receipt.
Open Ask
Sign in, then choose Ask at the top of any app screen. On a phone, Ask opens as a sheet. On a wider screen, it opens as a panel beside the page.
On an alert, choose Ask about this alert to start with that alert. Today and Alerts can also show suggested questions. Tap one to send it.
The conversation stays while you are signed in, so you can close Ask and open it again.
What you can ask
- What a coin's price did, and how its volume compares with usual.
- Which alerts are on your account, and what each one did.
- What a receipt says so far.
- How an alert would have done over recent stored prices.
- To set up a new alert, or to change, mute or snooze one.
When you ask for a change, Ask shows a card. Nothing changes until you tap the button on that card, such as Save alert or Confirm. Edit opens the same fields as the builder.
Where answers come from
Prices come from Coinbase public market data, with Kraken when Coinbase has no price. Alert facts come from your own account.
Code writes the fact lines from those records. A model may add a short note after them, labeled Model note. The model does not type prices, percents, counts or times.
If a price is missing, Ask says it is unavailable. It does not fill the gap with a guess.
What Ask will not do
Ask describes what happened and why, from the facts we stored. It does not tell anyone to buy, sell, or hold.
It does not predict a price, and it does not rate a coin, an alert or an account. It does not claim that one fact caused a move. Volume and the Bitcoin move over the same window are shown as facts, not as a reason.
Ask does not save anything without your tap on a card.
Limits
Ask messages have a monthly limit that depends on your plan. When only a few are left, Ask says how many remain this month.
When the limit is used, Ask tells you when you can send again. Alerts you already set keep working. Plans compares what each plan includes.
