Methodology
These pages say where a number on Terminal comes from. Each figure is read from the code that checks alerts and records prices.
-
Where prices come from
Spot prices come from Coinbase public market data, with Kraken when Coinbase is quiet. Candles are 1 minute long. A missing price stays unavailable.
-
How often alerts are checked
Each plan is checked on a schedule read from that plan. A check uses a fresh price. An older price is skipped, and the alert does not fire.
-
How an unusual move is measured
An unusual-move alert compares the price with that coin's own recent moves. The bar is wider for a coin that already swings, and narrower for a quiet coin.
-
How alert receipts are recorded
After an alert, Terminal records the price again at fixed later times. The median is the middle of those recorded changes. A gap stays missing.
-
How a why-note is written
A why-note is a short note on an alert. Code writes every number from stored facts. The words describe what the price did.
