Acceptable Use Policy

Version: 2026-10-23 draft

Updated 23 October 2026.

Effective: [Effective date: set when published]

Virtus Blockchain Labs LLC ("we", "us") runs Terminal. This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to the app, the website, the API, webhooks, the MCP server, the Telegram bot, and the marketplace. It applies to you and to any software that uses your account or your keys.

Summary. Use Terminal for your own alerts and your own software. Do not copy our data out in bulk, do not resell it, do not use Terminal to move a market, and do not pretend to be someone else. A listing on the marketplace describes a condition. It never tells anyone what to trade.

Market data and what we compute from it

Terminal computes alerts, notes, receipts, records, and counts from market data. Some of that data comes from CoinDesk Data and other sources under licences that let us sell what we compute. They do not let us, or you, pass on the raw data. The Data sources notice explains this.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or copy pages, charts, or API responses in bulk, or with a script that walks through symbols, dates, or records
  • Rebuild a price history, a candle series, an order book, or a news feed from what Terminal shows or returns
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw market data you get through Terminal, as a feed, a file, an API, or a dataset
  • Resell or redistribute our alerts, notes, receipts, or records as a data feed, unless the marketplace terms or a written agreement with us allow it
  • Remove or hide the source, the time, or the notice that comes with a number or a note
  • Use Terminal's output to train or test a model that competes with Terminal, or to build a dataset for sale

You may use alerts, notes, receipts, and records for your own purposes, including in software you run for your own account. You may share a single alert with the share button, or quote a single figure with its source and time.

Markets and trading

You may not use Terminal to:

  • Manipulate a market, including spoofing, wash trading, a pump-and-dump scheme, or a coordinated push on a coin's price
  • Publish a condition, a listing, or a note you know is false or misleading
  • Trade on, or help others trade on, information you know you may not use
  • Claim that Terminal, or an alert, told you or anyone else to buy, sell, or hold

People and accounts

You may not:

  • Pretend to be another person, a company, a public figure, Terminal, or our staff
  • Use a name, handle, or profile that suggests you work for us, or that a listing is ours when it is not
  • Open accounts to get more trials, more rewards, or more free use than one person gets
  • Share an account, a password, or an API key with another person, or let another person's software use your key
  • Use another person's account, key, or connected service without their permission
  • Collect personal information about other people through Terminal
  • Send spam, including bulk messages with your invite link

The service itself

You may not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the security of Terminal without our written permission. The Security page says how to report a problem.
  • Overload, disrupt, or slow the service, or try to get around a limit, a block, or an access control
  • Send malware, or content meant to break a parser, a model, or a safety check
  • Send prompts or text meant to make the model ignore its instructions, reveal hidden text, or write investment advice
  • Use the service if the sanctions section of the Terms forbids it, or to help someone the sanctions rules block

Rate limits

Every key, account, and network address has limits on how often it can call Terminal. The API answers a call over the limit with status 429 and a Retry-After header. Many responses also carry RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining, and RateLimit-Reset headers.

Respect those headers. Wait for the time Retry-After gives before you try again. Do not spread calls over many keys, accounts, or addresses to get past a limit. We can change limits to protect the service. The API documentation names the limits in effect.

Marketplace listings

These rules apply to every service you list on the marketplace, its name, its description, your profile, and your handle. They add to the seller and buyer terms, once those terms are published.

  • A listing describes a condition you wrote and what Terminal reports when it is met. It does not tell anyone to buy, sell, or hold, to go long or short, or where to enter or exit.
  • Do not use words that tell someone what to do with a coin, or that promise a result. The listing form refuses words such as "signal", "buy", "sell", "target", "guarantee", "profit", "moon", "bullish", and "bearish", and phrases such as "take profit", "stop loss", "win rate", and "track record". Do not get around that check with spacing, look-alike letters, or images.
  • Do not claim results. Do not state a return, an accuracy, a win count, or earnings. The record page shows what happened. Your text does not describe it.
  • Do not put contact details, links, chat invites, or other ways to reach you off Terminal in a listing.
  • Do not copy another seller's condition and list it as your own.
  • Do not list a service that you, or people working with you, subscribe to in order to raise its counts.
  • Do not use a handle that names Terminal, TokensMarketCap, our staff, support, or an official role.

We can refuse, pause, or remove a listing that breaks these rules, and we can refund buyers from sales that are still on hold. The seller and buyer terms say what happens to earnings and records.

What we can do

We can investigate a possible breach. We can remove content, pause an alert or a listing, revoke a key, lower a limit, or suspend or close an account that breaks this policy. Where we can do so without a security or legal problem, we email the account address and say why. You can reply to that email to ask us to look again.

We can report conduct that may be a crime to the authorities.
