What moves Pepe (PEPE)
As of October 12, 2026. This page describes drivers that already have a public record, and dates that are already on a calendar. It is not investment advice. It does not say to buy, sell, or hold, and it does not forecast a price.
What typically drives the price
A supply that this pull shows as fully issued. PEPE is a meme token. It does not pay a block subsidy, and it does not have a protocol upgrade calendar of the kind a base-layer coin has. CoinGecko's markets response on October 12, 2026, 09:56 UTC, reported circulating supply, total supply, and maximum supply as the same figure: 420,690,000,000,000 PEPE. A vesting calendar for a team or an investor tranche was not found in the sources checked on October 12, 2026.
Etherscan lists the contract 0x6982508145454ce325ddbe47a25d4ec3d2311933 as PepeToken, with source verified on April 14, 2023. This page did not audit that contract. It does not claim the mint function is gone.
Attention. PEPE has moved on days when the meme, a listing, or a wider move in similar tokens was the public story. Those days are not scheduled. A 5% day in the count below is not evidence of a cause.
Leverage. Perpetual markets can force liquidations that extend a move. Funding and open interest are not alert types until that feed is connected. This page does not quote an open-interest figure.
How much it usually moves
From October 13, 2025 through October 12, 2026, CoinGecko's daily USD series for pepe produced 364 close-to-close changes. The method is in README.md.
The median absolute move was 2.2%. The 90th percentile day was 7.4%. The price moved at least 5% on 71 days, at least 3% on 140 days, and at least 10% on 21 days. The largest close-to-close change in the window was 28.6%.
About 1 day in 5 cleared 5%. A fixed "5% up or down" rule fires several times a month on days that this window treats as ordinary for PEPE. There is no supply date on this page to line the rule up with. An unusual-move alert uses Pepe's own recent range.
A 5% move inside one hour is a different event from a 5% close-to-close day. This count does not measure the hourly case.
Example alerts
These are examples of wording. They are not recommendations, and they are not live prices. Terminal can run an unusual move, a percent move, a price level, or a volume spike. The note on an alert describes the move. It does not tell you what to do.
- Tell me when Pepe (PEPE) moves more than usual within an hour.
- Tell me when PEPE moves more than usual within 24 hours.
- Tell me when PEPE's volume is at least 3 times its 20-day average.
An unusual-move alert waits 4 hours before it can fire again, unless you change that. A volume alert waits 1 hour by default.
