How to set an XRP price alert
An XRP price alert is a condition on the price of XRP. When a check finds it met, a message can go to your phone or your inbox. The message names the check. It does not place an order, and no money moves with it.
A dollar figure below is an example, not a feed quote. Escrow dates are on What moves XRP.
What a price alert is
Each check reads the latest XRP price. The escrow calendar is not an input. One alert is stored when the condition is met, the rule is armed, and the wait has ended. Quiet hours and the daily limit can keep the message back. The alert stays on your list either way. The release itself is not a rule kind.
What tends to move XRP
In December 2017 Ripple placed 55 billion XRP into time-locked escrow, in contracts of 1 billion. On the first of each month, up to 1 billion XRP becomes releasable. Ripple can use some and lock the rest again. The gross figure is not what stays outside escrow.
On October 1, 2026, 1 billion XRP was released and 700 million was locked again. Across the 12 releases from November 2025 through October 2026, a ledger reader reports 70% locked back, about 300 million a month left outside on a net basis. Left outside escrow is not the same as placed into the market. The next net is unknown until after that month's release.
On November 1, 2026, at 00:00 UTC, up to 1,000,000,000 XRP became releasable from 2 escrow objects. December 1, 2026, at 00:00 UTC, repeats that gross amount. The times are ledger FinishAfter fields. New escrow extends the calendar. What moves XRP lists the next releases.
A July 1, 2026 summary says spot products from seven issuers launched from September to December 2025. Check the filings before treating a flow table as official. This article does not recap a court docket. The dated calendar item is the escrow. Funding-rate and open-interest alerts are on paid plans, which open later. A 24-hour unusual-move rule can watch a release morning. The release does not fire it.
Three ways to define "the price moved"
A level: price above or price below
You type a price. Say a level of $2, as an example.
Price above fires when the highest of the latest price and the candle highs in the crossing window is at or above your level. Price below uses the lows. A minute that started before the rule was saved, turned on, armed again, or finished its wait is left out. The latest price still counts, so a morning touch can fire and the stored price can already be back across the line. Level alerts and the crossing price explains that print. A level says nothing about the escrow.
A percent move inside a window
You set a percent, a direction (up, down, or either), and a window of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours. The move runs from that window's reference price to the latest price. A day and 15 minutes with the same percent are different rules. Daily counts stay on the coin page.
A move that is large for XRP lately
Unusual move compares the window with XRP's own recent range. A quiet month lowers the bar. A month with an escrow date can raise it. A floor stops a tiny wobble, and the fired alert stores the bar. What counts as an unusual move defines the test.
What happens after a level alert fires
Once XRP is past a level, the condition stays true, so the rule disarms. The default wait is 1 hour. It arms again when the latest price is back through the re-arm band. The default band is 1% of the level, shown on screen as its own level. It may arm again during the wait. It does not fire during the wait.
A percent or unusual move arms again when the move falls under half its threshold, or when a full window has passed. An unusual move waits 4 hours by default. Quiet hours keep the alert and stop delivery. Only a price level can send once when they end, and only while the price is still across the level. The daily limit defaults to 8 messages a day. You can set 1 to 30. Alerts past it stay listed, and the first can send one notice that the limit is used. Cooldowns, quiet hours, and the daily limit separates the controls.
Where the alert arrives
Phone notifications and email are on. An iPhone or iPad shows them from a Home Screen icon, not a Safari tab. Android and desktop ask in that browser. Crypto price alerts on your phone includes Focus. Email stays off until the address is confirmed.
Checks run about every 5 minutes on Free, about every minute on Trader, and about every 15 seconds on Pro. A skipped look is not rerun. The next look still reads highs and lows since the previous one (How often alerts are checked).
Check it before you rely on it
Send a test to the destination you enabled. It checks delivery, not a move in XRP, and it does not use a slot in the daily limit. A missing test points at permission, the Home Screen icon, or email confirmation.
The preview counts fires on stored minutes for the last 30 days and saves nothing. What the preview shows before you save covers a short history. It checks every minute, while a Free look is about 5 minutes apart, so a one-minute percent move can show there and stay quiet live. A level still uses the high or low in between.
Other places to set one
An exchange app alerts on that venue's XRP price. A chart site keeps a trigger log. TradingView, exchange alerts, and a dedicated alert app quotes their pages. A trigger log is not the later price at 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days.
FAQ
Does the monthly escrow release fire an XRP alert by itself?
No. The release is a ledger event. The alert fires only when your level, percent, or unusual-move condition is met. The amount left outside escrow is not known in advance.
Does an XRP price alert place an order?
No. A met condition stores an alert and may send a message. It does not submit an order or move funds.
Why can the message name a price already back across my level?
The check uses the high or the low in the crossing window, plus the latest price. The alert stores the latest price, which can already be back across the line.

Before you save
Choose a level, a percent in a window, or a move that is large for XRP lately. Save it before a first-of-month morning if that date matters. Turn on phone, email, or both, then send a test and read the preview. Terminal offers those conditions, delivery, the test, and the preview. Price alerts are on the Free plan. Plans lists the limits. The record describes what the price did. It is not investment advice.
