How to set an Ethereum price alert

An Ethereum price alert watches Ethereum (ETH) and sends a message when your condition is met. You write the condition. The message reports the check. It does not place an order, and it does not move money.

A dollar figure below is an example, not a live quote. Drivers are on What moves Ethereum.

What a price alert is

Each check reads the latest ETH price on the market data feed. One alert is stored when the condition is met, the rule is armed, and its wait has ended. A fire held for quiet hours or the daily limit still sits on your list.

What tends to move Ethereum

Ethereum has used proof of stake since the Merge on September 15, 2022. New ETH depends on how much is staked. Since EIP-1559, a transaction's base fee is burned, so net supply can rise or fall.

The Ethereum roadmap names upgrades already in production: Shapella, Dencun, Pectra, and Fusaka. Fusaka activated on mainnet on December 3, 2025, with PeerDAS and a path for later blob-parameter changes. Each upgrade changed fees, staking, or how much data rollups can post. The coin page records moves around those dates. An alert does not read the roadmap. It still needs a price, a percent, or an unusual-move rule.

The SEC approved exchange rule changes for US spot ether products on May 23, 2024. Trading began in July 2024.

Rollup fees and blob demand feed the burn. The coin page records that ETH moves with Bitcoin on many days and with rollup activity. Funding-rate and open-interest alerts are on Trader, Pro, and Community, separate from a spot price alert. Paid plans are not open yet.

As of the October 13, 2026 read, Glamsterdam had no published mainnet slot. A Foundation post scheduled Sepolia and left mainnet undated.

Three ways to define "the price moved"

A level: price above or price below

You type a price. Say a level of $3,000, as an example.

Price above fires when the highest of the latest price and the candle highs in the crossing window is at or above that level. Price below uses the lows. The window starts at the minute of the previous check. A minute that started before the rule was saved or turned on, armed again, or ended its wait is left out. The latest price still counts, and the named high or low can sit past your level after the latest trade has come back. Level alerts and the crossing price explains that print. A level says nothing about speed.

A percent move inside a window

You type a percent, a direction (up, down, or either), and a window of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours. The check compares the latest price with the reference price at the start of that window. The same percent over an hour and over a day are different events. Daily counts stay on the coin page.

A move that is large for Ethereum lately

An unusual move compares the window with how much ETH has been moving. A narrow stretch lowers the bar. A wide stretch raises it. A floor blocks a tiny wobble on a coin that barely moves. The fired alert stores that bar. What counts as an unusual move is the comparison. What a volume spike is is the separate rule for trading size.

What happens after a level alert fires

Once ETH is past a level, the condition stays true. The rule disarms on a fire. The default wait is 1 hour. It arms again only when the latest price is back through a band on the near side of your level, which the screen shows. It may re-arm during the wait. It fires again only when it is armed, the wait is over, and the condition is met.

A percent or unusual move arms again when that move falls under half its threshold, or when a full window has passed. An unusual move waits 4 hours by default. Quiet hours pause delivery and still record the alert. A price level can send once when they end, if the price is still across the level. The daily limit defaults to 8 messages a day. You can set 1 to 30. Alerts past it stay listed, and the first can send one notice that the limit is used. Cooldowns, quiet hours, and the daily limit separates those controls.

Where the alert arrives

Phone notifications and email are on. On an iPhone or iPad, add the site to the Home Screen and turn phone alerts on from that icon. Android and a desktop browser ask in the browser you are using. Crypto price alerts on your phone has the steps, including Focus. Email stays off until the address is confirmed, and it can arrive later. Both can be on.

Live checks follow the plan: about every 5 minutes on Free, about every minute on Trader, and about every 15 seconds on Pro. A cross that comes and goes between checks is not rebuilt.

Check it before you rely on it

Send a test to the phone or inbox you turned on. It is not a market move. If it does not arrive, fix the permission or the confirmation and send it again.

The preview replays the condition over the last 30 days of stored prices and counts fires. It sends nothing and skips the price after a hypothetical fire. What the preview shows before you save covers a short history. Every stored minute is checked, so a Free check can miss a fire the preview marks.

Other places to set one

An exchange app usually alerts on that venue's price, next to a place to trade. A charting site ties alerts to a chart and keeps a trigger log. TradingView, exchange alerts, and a dedicated alert app compares those pages. A trigger log is not the later price at 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days.

FAQ

Does an Ethereum price alert place an order?

No. The check stores an alert and can send a message. It does not submit an order or move money.

Can I get an Ethereum price alert by email and on my phone?

Yes. Confirm the address before email will turn on. Allow phone notifications in each browser, and on an iPhone or iPad open the Home Screen icon first. Email can arrive later than a phone notification.

How do I keep a level alert from messaging all day?

The rule disarms until the latest price is back through the re-arm band. Add a longer wait, quiet hours, or a lower daily limit, then read the 30-day count. That count is the replay, not the next day.
