How to set a Sui price alert

A Sui price alert is a condition on the price of Sui (SUI). When a check finds the condition met, a message can go to your phone or your inbox. It does not place an order, and no money moves with it.

A dollar figure below is an example, not a feed quote. Unlock categories and the monthly schedule are on What moves Sui.

What a price alert is

Each check reads the latest SUI price. An unlock row is not an input. One alert is stored when the condition is met, the rule is armed, and the wait has ended. The unlock itself is not a rule kind.

What tends to move Sui

SUI has a maximum supply of 10 billion. The token generation event was May 3, 2023. Series A and Series B are fully unlocked on the tokenomics breakdown. Community reserves, stake subsidies, early contributors, and the Mysten Labs treasury still vest. A large share of supply, a bit over half, has no published release date. Stake subsidies are ongoing issuance for validators, not a one-time cliff.

Monthly unlocks follow a published schedule. What moves Sui lists the next ones. This article does not copy those rows, dates, or amounts. Trackers do not always show the same row. One lists a combined monthly unlock. DefiLlama lists a smaller slice for the Mysten Labs treasury, and notes that its schedule is approximated from Sui's published chart. The two readings can both be true as different slices. The coin page does not add them. The stable pattern is a monthly release.

Sui is a proof-of-stake chain. Application launches, stablecoin transfers, and outages or client bugs have lined up with sharp days.

Perpetual funding and liquidations can extend a move. Funding-rate and open-interest alerts are on paid plans, which open later. CoinGecko on October 11, 2026, 14:20 UTC, reported circulating supply of about 4.12 billion, in line with about 41% unlocked on the tokenomics pages.

A volume spike defaults to 3 times the 20-day average and needs at least $10,000 of trading in the window. What a volume spike is is that rule. It does not read the unlock schedule.

Three ways to define "the price moved"

A level: price above or price below

You type a price. Say a level of $2, as an example.

Price above uses the highest of the latest price and the candle highs in the crossing window. Price below uses the lows. Minutes from before the rule armed, armed again, or finished its wait are left out. The latest price still counts, so the stored price can already be back across the line (Level alerts and the crossing price). A level says nothing about an unlock row.

A percent move inside a window

You set a percent, a direction (up, down, or either), and a window of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours. The move runs from that window's reference price to the latest price. The monthly schedule is not one of those windows.

A move that is large for Sui lately

Unusual move compares the window with SUI's own recent range. A floor stops a tiny wobble, and the fired alert stores the bar. What counts as an unusual move is the comparison. The next unlock amount stays on the coin page.

What happens after a level alert fires

Once SUI is past a level, the condition stays true, so the rule disarms. The default wait is 1 hour. It arms again when the latest price is back through a band of 1% of the level, shown as its own level. It may arm again during the wait, and it does not fire during the wait. An unlock row does not reset that wait.

A percent move, an unusual move, or a volume spike arms again under half its threshold, or after a full window. An unusual move waits 4 hours by default. The other two wait 1 hour. Quiet hours keep the alert and stop delivery. Only a price level sends once when they end, and only while the price is still across the level. The daily limit defaults to 8 messages a day. You can set 1 to 30. The first alert past the limit can send one notice (Cooldowns, quiet hours, and the daily limit).

Where the alert arrives

Phone notifications and email are on. An iPhone or iPad shows them from a Home Screen icon, after you add the site there and turn phone alerts on. A Safari tab does not. Android and desktop ask in that browser. Crypto price alerts on your phone includes Focus. Email stays off until the address is confirmed.

Checks run about every 5 minutes on Free, about every minute on Trader, and about every 15 seconds on Pro. A skipped look is not rerun. The next look still reads highs and lows since the previous one (How often alerts are checked).

Check it before you rely on it

Send a test to the destination you turned on. It checks delivery, not a move in SUI, and it does not use a slot in the daily limit.

The preview counts fires on stored minutes for the last 30 days and saves nothing (What the preview shows before you save). It checks every minute, while a Free look is about 5 minutes apart, so a one-minute percent move can show there and stay quiet live.

Other places to set one

A venue app alerts on that venue's SUI price. The published unlock schedule is not a field on that page. A chart site keeps a trigger log. TradingView, exchange alerts, and a dedicated alert app quotes those pages.

FAQ

Does a monthly unlock fire a Sui alert by itself?

No. The unlock is a published schedule. The alert fires only when your level, percent, unusual-move, or volume condition is met. What moves Sui lists the next rows. This article does not copy them.

Why can two trackers name different unlock amounts?

They can be different slices of the same supply. One tracker shows a combined monthly row, and another shows only the Mysten Labs treasury slice. The coin page does not add the slices. A price check reads neither row.

Does a Sui price alert place an order?

No. A met condition stores an alert and may send a message. It does not submit an order or move funds.
