How to set a Chainlink price alert
A Chainlink price alert is a condition on the price of Chainlink (LINK). When a check finds the condition met, a message can go to your phone or your inbox. It does not place an order, and it does not move money.
A dollar figure below is an example, not a live quote. The supply pace, the reserve, and staking are on What moves Chainlink.
What a price alert is
A check reads the latest LINK price. It does not read a data-feed fee, a reserve balance, or a staking timer. One alert is stored when the condition is met, the rule is armed, and the wait has ended.
What tends to move Chainlink
LINK pays the people who run Chainlink nodes and is staked behind selected data feeds. The Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) moves messages and tokens across chains. Headlines that a large application or institution turned a feed or a CCIP lane on have lined up with moves in LINK.
Service revenue is converted into LINK and kept in an on-chain reserve. The project has said it does not expect withdrawals for multiple years. BSCN, on October 3, 2026, put the reserve near 6.12 million LINK in early October 2026. A Dune read around the same season showed about 6.20 million.
The cap is 1 billion. CoinGecko on October 11, 2026, 14:20 UTC, reported about 766.8 million circulating. The rest leaves non-circulating wallets as a pace, not a clock time. What moves Chainlink says so. Coin Bureau, on October 4, 2026, said Chainlink describes a pace of 7% of the cap per year, 70 million LINK. No next release date was confirmed from a primary Chainlink post on October 11, 2026. The pace is a rate, not a date, and not the size of one named future release.
Staking v0.2 launched on November 28, 2023. The pool cap was 45 million LINK, with 40.875 million for the community and the rest for people who run nodes on in-scope feeds. Unbonding is a 28-day cooldown plus a 7-day claim window for that staker, and it does not start the wait on a price rule. A full pool is not new issuance.
CME listed LINK futures, and offshore perpetual markets trade it. Funding-rate and open-interest alerts are on paid plans, which open later. A volume spike defaults to 3 times the 20-day average and needs at least $10,000 in the window (What a volume spike is). A feed headline does not send it.
Three ways to define "the price moved"
A level: price above or price below
You type a price. Say a level of $20, as an example.
Price above uses the highest of the latest price and the candle highs in the crossing window. Price below uses the lows. Minutes from before the rule was saved, turned on, armed again, or finished its wait are left out, and the latest price still counts. Level alerts and the crossing price covers a print already back across the line.
A percent move inside a window
You type a percent, a direction (up, down, or either), and a window of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours. The check compares the latest price with the reference at the start of that window. An hour and a day are different rules.
A move that is large for Chainlink lately
Unusual move compares the window with how much LINK has been moving. The bar is never under 0.5%, and the fired alert stores the bar. What counts as an unusual move is the comparison.
What happens after a level alert fires
Once LINK is past a level, the condition stays true, so the rule disarms. The default wait is 1 hour. It arms again when the latest price is back through a band of 1% of the level, shown as its own level. It may arm again during the wait, and it does not fire during the wait. The 28-day unbonding clock does not move that band.
A percent move, an unusual move, or a volume spike arms again under half its threshold, or after a full window. An unusual move waits 4 hours by default. The other two wait 1 hour. Quiet hours record the alert and pause delivery. Only a price level sends once when they end, and only if the price is still across the level. The daily limit defaults to 8 messages a day. You can set 1 to 30. The first alert past it can send one notice (Cooldowns, quiet hours, and the daily limit).
Where the alert arrives
Phone notifications and email are on. On an iPhone or iPad, add the site to the Home Screen and turn phone alerts on from that icon. A Safari tab does not show them. Android and desktop ask in the open browser. Email stays off until the address is confirmed. Crypto price alerts on your phone includes Focus.
Checks run about every 5 minutes on Free, about every minute on Trader, and about every 15 seconds on Pro (How often alerts are checked). A look that starts too late is skipped and is not rerun.
Check it before you rely on it
Send a test to the phone or the inbox you turned on. It walks delivery, not a move in LINK, and it does not count toward the daily limit.
The preview counts fires on stored minutes for the last 30 days and sends nothing. What the preview shows before you save. It walks every stored minute, while a Free look is about 5 minutes apart, so a short percent move can show there and stay quiet live.
Other places to set one
A venue app alerts on that venue's LINK price. It has no Chainlink release date to attach. A chart site keeps a trigger log, which is not the later price at 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days. TradingView, exchange alerts, and a dedicated alert app compares those pages.
FAQ
Does the supply schedule name a date for the next release?
No. The sources checked on October 11, 2026 describe a yearly pace and a model of past releases. They do not name the next release.
Is the 28-day staking cooldown the wait on a price alert?
No. Unbonding is a per-staker timer from staking v0.2, which launched on November 28, 2023. A price level waits 1 hour by default, and an unusual move waits 4 hours.
What keeps a Chainlink level from messaging all afternoon?
The rule stays disarmed until the price comes back through the re-arm band.
