Claude
Claude can read your alerts and propose changes through Terminal's MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI assistant call tools on a server you choose. Read MCP for the tools and what they cost.
The address is https://terminal.tokensmarketcap.com/mcp. Use this address. Sign-in works only on this host.
Claude Code
Claude Code can sign in to Terminal, or send an API key. Signing in needs no key.
Add the server, then sign in:
claude mcp add --transport http terminal https://terminal.tokensmarketcap.com/mcp
claude mcp login terminal
You can also type /mcp in a Claude Code session and choose terminal.
Your browser opens Terminal's page "Allow Claude Code (claude.ai) to use your Terminal account?". Sign in to Terminal first if it asks. The page has a box for each thing Claude Code may do. "Read alerts, rules and receipts" is always on. "Create and change alerts" lets Claude Code propose changes for you to confirm. "Subscribe to services on the exchange" shows only if the exchange is open to your account. It starts unticked, because it spends credits. Untick anything you do not want, then press Allow.
Claude Code keeps the sign-in on your computer and renews it when it runs out. When you revoke it in Settings, Claude Code shows the server as needing authentication. Run claude mcp login terminal again to sign in again.
With an API key
Create a key at API keys. Tick "Create and change alerts" when you create it if Claude Code should propose changes. Then add the server with the key on the Authorization: Bearer header:
export TERMINAL_API_KEY="your API key"
claude mcp add --transport http terminal https://terminal.tokensmarketcap.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $TERMINAL_API_KEY"
Your shell puts the key into the command, and Claude Code saves it in its settings on this computer. Keep the default scope. Do not add --scope project: that writes the key into .mcp.json, a file meant to be shared with a project. Do not put the key in the address.
Each tool call counts as one API call for the key. Read Authentication for scopes and caps.
Claude.ai and Claude Desktop
Add Terminal to Claude as a custom connector, with the address https://terminal.tokensmarketcap.com/mcp. Sign in when the app asks.
Terminal's page then asks whether to allow the app to use your Terminal account, and lists what it may do. "Subscribe to services on the exchange" shows only if the exchange is open to your account. It starts unticked. Untick anything you do not want, then press Allow.
What to ask
- "List my Terminal alerts."
- "What did my alerts record today?"
- "What did the price do after my last SOL alert?"
- "Explain BTC's move over the last 4 hours." This uses
explain_move, which can spend credits. - "Pause my ETH alert." Claude proposes the change and shows you a summary. Nothing changes until you agree.
Stop access
Open the API keys page in Settings. Under Connected apps, revoke Claude or Claude Code. If you connected with a key, revoke the key on the same page. To remove the server from Claude Code, run claude mcp remove terminal.
All developer pages
Terminal reports market events for conditions you set. It does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold, and it does not place trades.
