How to set a Solana price alert
A Solana price alert is a condition on the price of Solana (SOL). When it is met, a message can go to your phone or your inbox. The message names the check. It does not place an order, and no money moves with it.
A dollar figure below is an example, not a feed quote. Drivers are on What moves Solana.
What a price alert is
A check takes the latest SOL price on the market data feed and runs your condition. The alert is stored when the condition is met, the rule is armed, and the wait has ended. Quiet hours and the daily limit can keep the message back. The alert remains on your list either way.
What tends to move Solana
Solana issues new SOL to stakers and validators. The rate steps down over time toward a floor. On August 28, 2026 validators passed a proposal to speed that step-down (SIMD-0550). A September 17, 2026 read did not show the double-disinflation gate as active on mainnet. A passed vote is not an active gate.
On October 9, 2026 mainnet entered epoch 1053 on a shorter slot, the last of four cuts under SIMD-0525. An epoch is still a fixed count of slots, so rewards land more often. The same proposal raises slots per year so annual issuance math does not jump only because slots are shorter. That is a schedule for new SOL, not an exchange print.
Firedancer, a second client with its own codebase, has been on mainnet since December 12, 2025. Adoption is still partial. Alpenglow was on devnet in October 2026, and a September 22, 2026 note said Firedancer did not yet support that migration. No mainnet date was in the sources checked on October 11, 2026.
A secondary summary published July 1, 2026 says the SEC approved the first US spot Solana ETFs in October 2025. Confirm the filings before treating that date as settled. SOL also moves with activity in its own applications. Funding-rate and open-interest alerts are on Trader, Pro, and Community, and paid plans are not open yet. They do not replace a spot condition.
Three ways to define "the price moved"
A level: price above or price below
You type a price. Say a level of $100, as an example.
Price above fires when the highest of the latest price and the candle highs in the crossing window is at or above your level. Price below uses the lows. Minutes from before the rule armed, before it last re-armed, or before the wait ended are left out. The latest price still counts. The alert can name a high or low already back across the line. Level alerts and the crossing price explains that print. A level is silent about speed.
A percent move inside a window
You set a percent, a direction (up, down, or either), and a window of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours. The move runs from that window's reference price to the latest price. An hour and a day with the same percent are different rules. The coin page's close-to-close counts are not copied here.
A move that is large for Solana lately
Unusual move compares the window with Solana's own recent range. Calm stretches lower the bar. Wide stretches raise it. A floor stops a tiny wobble on a coin that barely moves. The fired alert stores that bar. What counts as an unusual move defines the test. What a volume spike is is the separate rule for trading size.
What happens after a level alert fires
A level SOL has crossed stays true on the next check. The rule disarms, and the wait starts. A price level waits 1 hour unless you choose another. It arms again when the latest price comes back through the re-arm band on the near side of your level. That band is shown as its own level. Re-arming during the wait is allowed. Firing during the wait is not.
A percent or unusual move arms again when the move falls under half its threshold, or when a full window has passed. An unusual move waits 4 hours by default. Quiet hours stop delivery and keep the alert. Only a price level can send once when they end, and only if the price is still across the level. The daily limit defaults to 8 messages a day. You can set 1 to 30. Alerts past it are kept, and the first can send one notice that the limit is used. Cooldowns, quiet hours, and the daily limit keeps those controls apart.
Where the alert arrives
Phone notifications and email are on. An iPhone or iPad shows them from a Home Screen icon, not from an ordinary Safari tab. Android and a desktop browser ask in that browser. Crypto price alerts on your phone includes Focus. Email stays off until the address is confirmed. Both can be on.
Live checks run about every 5 minutes on Free, about every minute on Trader, and about every 15 seconds on Pro. The check does not rebuild a cross that ended between looks.
Check it before you rely on it
Send a test to the destination you enabled. It walks delivery and is not a move in SOL. A missing test points at permission, the Home Screen icon, or email confirmation.
The preview replays the condition on stored minutes for the last 30 days and counts fires. It saves nothing and does not attach a later price. What the preview shows before you save covers a short history. The replay can show fires a 5-minute Free check would skip.
Other places to set one
Exchange apps alert on that venue's price, usually beside an order ticket. Chart sites keep a trigger log. TradingView, exchange alerts, and a dedicated alert app quotes their pages. A trigger log is not a later price at 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days.
FAQ
Does a Solana price alert trade for me?
No. A met condition stores an alert and may send a message. It does not submit an order or move funds.
Can I get a Solana price alert on my phone without an exchange app?
Yes. Allow notifications in the browser. On an iPhone or iPad, add the site to the Home Screen and open that icon first. Email is separate and stays off until the address is confirmed.
What keeps a Solana alert from repeating all day?
A level stays disarmed until the price comes back through the re-arm band. A window rule waits for the move to fall under half its threshold, or for the window to pass. Quiet hours and the daily limit then cap delivery. The preview count is that replay.

Before you save
Choose a level, a percent in a window, or a move that is large for SOL lately. Turn on phone notifications, email, or both. Send a test and read the preview. Terminal offers those conditions, phone and email delivery, the test, and the preview. Price alerts are on the Free plan. Plans lists each plan's limits. The record describes what the price did. It is not investment advice.
