What moves Starknet (STRK)

As of October 11, 2026. This page describes drivers that already have a public record, and dates that are already on a calendar. It is not investment advice. It does not say to buy, sell, or hold, and it does not forecast a price.

What typically drives the price

A monthly unlock, with calendars that do not match. Starknet is an Ethereum validity rollup. STRK is the token used for fees and for staking. The cap is 10 billion STRK. Token generation was February 20, 2024. Early contributors, investors, and foundation buckets unlock on a schedule that trackers still model as a monthly cliff.

On October 11, 2026 those trackers did not agree:

The token counts on those pages do not match. This page does not print one. Tokens becoming transferable is the event. A tracker dollar value moves with the price and is not part of the schedule.

The session that put STRK in this set. CoinGecko's markets list at 14:20 UTC on October 11, 2026 showed about $928.5 million of 24-hour volume and a 24-hour change of about +45%. That is one session. It is why STRK is in the ten extra coins. It is not a typical day, and it is not a quote to trade against.

Usage and leverage. Fee spikes, staking changes, and application launches on Starknet move attention to STRK. Perpetual markets can force liquidations that extend a move. Funding and open interest are not alert types until that feed is connected.

How much it usually moves

From October 12, 2025 through October 11, 2026, CoinGecko's daily USD series for starknet produced 364 close-to-close changes. The method is in README.md.

The median absolute move was 4.0%. The 90th percentile day was 17.9%. The price moved at least 5% on 150 days, at least 3% on 224 days, and at least 10% on 64 days. The largest close-to-close change in the window was 164.2%. One daily point that large can be a thin print. The useful figure is the count.

About 2 days in 5 cleared 5%. A fixed "5% up or down" rule fires on an ordinary day for STRK. The October cliff, whichever calendar day a tracker uses, sits on top of a coin that already moves 5% most weeks. An unusual-move alert uses Starknet's own recent range. In a month this wide, 5% can be inside the range.

A 5% move inside one hour is a different event from a 5% close-to-close day. This count does not measure the hourly case.

Example alerts

These are examples of wording. They are not recommendations, and they are not live prices. Terminal can run an unusual move, a percent move, a price level, or a volume spike. The note on an alert describes the move. It does not tell you what to do.

  1. Tell me when Starknet (STRK) moves more than usual within an hour.
  2. Tell me when STRK moves more than usual within 24 hours.
  3. Tell me when STRK's volume is at least 3 times its 20-day average.

Leave the 24-hour rule on through mid-to-late October. The unlock does not send the alert. The move does. An unusual-move alert waits 4 hours before it can fire again, unless you change that. A volume alert waits 1 hour by default.
